Oldies and nostalgia that places the KAWARTHA REGION at its heart. It’s all we are, and it’s all we do. And you won’t find anything like it on traditional radio, anywhere.

Kawartha Focused

Your favourite songs: from Buddy Holly, to The Rolling Stones. Patti Page, to Patsy Cline. Big Band, mixed in with the biggest hits from The Beatles, to Chicago, to Bobby Rydell.

And oldies don’t stop at Top 40. We spin traditional country favourites you just don’t hear on commercial country radio today: Hank Snow and Hank Williams, Bob Wills and Bobby Bare. George and Tammy, Dolly, Loretta and Conway – the list goes on.

You’ll hear classic commercials from yesteryear, and some classic comedy, too.

But the highlight remains the hundreds of broadcast archives from the Kawartha region – from Bob Eakins calling hockey games, reciting  his daily recipe or gently narrating ‘Sunday Reveries’ on 910 CKLY, to Gary Dalliday’s very first sportscast on 980 CHEX, and the Peterborough Timbermen winning their fourth Mann Cup in 1954. There’s John Badham and Gordon Gibb stickhandling the Great Flood of 2004, Neil Boughen covering a crisis in Haliburton, Jim Bonner’s ‘Top 8 at 8″ on 980 CHEX and Geoffrey Thomson’s Sunday evening classics on CFMP, the forerunner to the WOLF. Hockey icon Bobby Orr doing commercials for Ostrander Jewellers, and Joey Edwards manning CKPT on New Years’ Day 1971 from the Empress Hotel while Dave Fisher, long before his days in Montreal, was doing the same on 980 CHEX.

We get these treasures out of the box and put the magic online for anyone to hear, across the globe. A living, breathing history exhibit presented in a traditional radio format. But you won’t find this on traditional radio. Not anymore. Instead, it all lives here. Online.

Thanks for dropping by. We hope you enjoy our current collection, and our additions as we find them.

The warmth of yesteryear, like a favourite sweater. And we bring it all back.

It’s all we do…

Got a Song Request?

Give us a shout! If we haven’t got a particular song, we’ll find it! And since our audience stretches across the globe, please give us your location and time zone, and when you’d like to hear it. Giving us a day or two in advance would help as well. Thanks!
